Pillow Lava Shaped Cookies

Cherry leaf flavored almond biscuit

Butter, almond, wheat flour, cornstarch, sugar, cherry tree leaf (Matsuzaki product)

About 20 million years ago, Izu Peninsula was a submarine volcanic cluster fomed from the far south of the sea. Lava flows from submarine volcanoes were solidified into tube-shaped rock by seawater. These lavas are similar to the shape of pillows, and are called “pillow lava”. You can see pillow lava like this at Ishiki, Nishiizu-town.
