What ‘on earth’ is Geogashi® ?

Long long ago, Izu Peninsula* wasn’t located in Japan. (*A designated national park area in the east of Shizuoka prefecture.) It was a young island far in the middle of Pacific Ocean moving towards north. The area was exhibiting frequent volcanic activities and earthquakes due to the active magma flows under the seabed. The island was sitting on a drifting plate tectonic, slowly exposing more of its land over the sea surface. [It must have been like a travelling fun fair.] It was during the Stone Age when the island finally collided Honshu, the main island of Japan. However, that’s not the end of its colourful volcanic history. Even after the collision, Izu Peninsula went through major volcanic eruptions forming Mt.Amagi and some other mountains in the region. Most of these volcanic mountains are now dormant but some groups of volcanos still remain active.
